SHUFFLE OFF TO BUFFALO - Friday, March 10, 2017 -Day Forty - Greenfield, OH to Pittsburgh, PA

Short drive today. We got to Mars, PA, just north of Pittsburgh around 3 pm.  It was so great to see our good friends the Ashbridges.  It is always so nice to catch up with them. We went to Willie's, one of the many restaurants offering Friday fish fries and had a delicious meal.  Then we watched a little basketball and made plans for Saturday.

SHUFFLE OFF TO BUFFALO - Saturday, March 11, 2017 -Day Forty-one - Pittsburgh, PA

Slept in a bit today. No long drive. After a delicious breakfast we headed to Pittsburgh to check out the home show at the Convention Center.  There were two huge floors of displays and its always nice to get new ideas for decorating etc. Bought a glass cutting tool, a wooden fish and some Girl Scout cookies but that was all.  Afterwards we went to the German Club, Teutonia Mannerchor, founded in 1854 by Carole's great-great grandfather. The beer was great and the bartender even gave Ron and I mugs to take with us. We went home and spent a relaxing evening with Carole and Earle. They once again displayed their great culinary and hospitality skills. Thanks so much for offering us such wonderful accommodations when we pass through Pittsburgh!

SHUFFLE OFF TO BUFFALO - Sunday, March 12, 2017 -Day Forty-two - Pittsburgh, PA to Buffalo, NY

Another short drive and we made it to Buffalo around 2:30. We had a nice visit with Dad and Mom Spitzer and another exquisite meal at Montabaur Heights. Left after dinner and headed to see Dad and Mom Hochmuth.  We always try to see our parents on our way going and coming from trips. Good to see that they all are in the same health as when we left for California.

Home Sweet Home - Monday, March 13, 2017 -Day Forty-three - Buffalo, NY to Chaumont, NY

We had planned on staying a little longer at Ron's parents house but we decided that we wanted to beat the storm since the driving would be bad for the next couple of days. So we left Oakfield about 1:00 pm and made it to Watertown in good time.  We wanted to make a stop at Urgent Care to get Ron something for his terrible cough. It wasn't bronchitis but they did give him some medicine to help him sleep and stop the cough.  While he was doing that I got groceries so that we wouldn't have to venture out the next few days if we didn't want to.  There would be plenty to do with wash, cleaning, unpacking and doing our taxes etc. Got home about 5:30.  While I love traveling and seeing all the wonderful sights it is always so nice to be home.  We had a great trip with some wonderful family times. We traveled just over 8000 miles, were gone 43 days, hit 22 states and made priceless memories.  Now it's time to do some house projects - painting - and get ourselves rested for our next adventure.  Stay tuned.  I'm not sure if I'll be able to but I'd love to blog about our trip to Peru and Machu Picchu  - they have been on my bucket list for a long time.  Until the next adventure!
