Slept in until 9 and went down and enjoyed a great hearty breakfast provided by the hotel. The weather was great so we ate by the pool. Went back to the room and showered and got ready to take the 1:00 shuttle to the airport. Our flight didn't leave until 4:00 p.m. so we had a leisurely morning. Our flight was just 5 hours and 10 minutes long. We arrived in Lima, got through immigration, got our bags very quickly and met up with our Gate 1 Tour Guide, Juan. There were 21 others with us at the airport. I'm not sure if there will be more tomorrow. The hotel is about 35 minutes from the airport and we got to the hotel by 10 p. m. They were very quick in checking us in and getting us our keys and they even brought our bags up to the room. On our way to the hotel Juan gave us some facts about Peru. Its population is 31 million with 10 million residing in Lima. Lima is the 3rd largest city in South America. The second largest city in Peru is Arequipa which has only 1 million people. I also remember reading the Peru is twice the size of Texas so we will traversing a lot of territory. That's probably why we'll be taking two flights within Peru on this tour. Well, time to get to bed as we have a number of busy days ahead.
