CALIFORNIA HERE WE ARE - Tuesday, February 21, 2017 - Day Twenty-three- Sacramento, CA

Today it was off to explore some historic parts of the city in Old Sacramento. Our first stop was the California State Railroad Museum. Here the "Grands" could see some of the old trains and walk through the sleeping and dining cars etc. On the second floor they got to play with some Thomas the trains. From there we walked the streets of "Old Sac" checking out the quaint stores and shops. For lunch we stayed in Old Sac and went to La Terraza, a Mexican restaurant, and had a delicious lunch. For the kids though the day's highlight was probably the trip to Candy Heaven, a candy store extraordinaire. They were able to pick out some of their favorite candies - since they had eaten their lunch, of course. It started to sprinkle as we were headed to the cars but again we got in our family time without disruption from the weather. Afternoon routine repeated - naps, and hot tub - it doesn't matter if it's raining a little. Ordered pizza for dinner. It was early to bed since we had an early wake up call on Wednesday.
