CALIFORNIA HERE WE ARE - Wednesday, February 22, 2017 - Day Twenty-four - Sacramento, CA

I heard Brayden up around 5 am. He told his parents he knew we were going to leave early today.😜 We did get up and out early on our road trip to San Francisco leaving about 6:30 after dressing and feeding kids. Today it was just Eric's family and me since we didn't want to take two cars. Chris and C.J. opted for a quiet day at home, Ron went to Chris' to work on some projects and poor Jason was still on jury duty. We made pretty good time getting to San Francisco since we left early. Muir Woods was the first stop, Eric, Col and I had been there before but we wanted the kids to see the big redwoods. We walked as much of the trail as we could before we were stopped because of water on the trail. The kids were troopers and had a good chance to run and get their exercise. From there it was on to see the Golden Gate Bridge where we could get a picture of Brayden reading his book to his siblings. Next stop, Lombard Street. I have to admit that I need to get into better shape after walking up Hyde Street so we could get pictures from the top and then walk down. The one to pity though was Eric who was pushing two kids in a stroller - he won't need cross fit for a week. We ate a seafood lunch on Pier 39 and then watched the sea lions before returning home. Even though we left SF at 2:45 we ran into lots of traffic and it took us much longer getting home than going there. When asked what was he best part of San Francisco Brayden said the ice cream we got on Pier 39. His parents said that we could have stayed in Sacramento for an ice cream but hopefully there are some other memories that will stick with him! By the time we got home it was bedtime for the kids so no hot tub tonight but they were promised they could go in twice tomorrow.
