Trip to Niagara Falls - Day One - Thursday, October 19, 2017

Happy birthday CJ.  Love you to pieces.

Made the trip to Niagara Falls after dropping off soups at both sets of parents. On the way we ran into two NYSAfriends at the thruway rest stop - Ginny Levine and Mike Mitchell. Our  hotel the Quality Inn and Suites was right across the street from the Convention Center where the NYSAFLT Gala and Conference were held. How convenient. We went over to check out where things were being held and ran into Swaz, Joy, Sue B., Beth, Marie, John and Bill. We walked around our hotel a bit and found that the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute is also across the street. We had a delicious gelato and decided that we would go back the next day for breakfast. I got ready for the gala and Ron rested. He was going to meet up with Larry Sendlak for dinner. The Gala was very nice and it was so good to see friends that I hadn't seen for a while. Marie Campanaro had a PowerPoint presentation which showed pictures and programs from the history of NYSAFLT. It was fun to reminisce about the old days back at the Concord and Nevele. I got back to the hotel just after 10:00 but Ron was later. He and Larry also had a good time recalling the "old days" at Turner and beyond.
